Exploring SBU’s Food Pantry
30 percent of undergrads suffer from food insecurity. In Cattaraugus County, over 1 in 5 people (21.6%) face hunger, making it one of the most impacted regions in the state.
The SBU Food Pantry, established in 2019, serves as a place available to students to combat hunger at St. Bonaventure University.
SBU-TV’s Sydney Labayewski talks with Food System’s project leader, Lucy Van Rensselaer and Food Pantry volunteer, Mike Sears about the functions of the food pantry and speaking out against the stigma surrounding the need for help.
Hours of operation are Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., and Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.
